Dear Santa Squad, I’m writing you now for a very good reason. I have something fun for your holiday season. We made a short film, Mrs. Claus, the elves and I. (We teamed up with Avaaz and gave it a try.) This one’s for the grown ups. It’s something that’s new. It’s about our kids’ fears, and what we can do. You can share it with them, if that’s how you feel.  But we wanted to tell you, in case it’s too real. The rate of ice growth for the first half of November 2015 was quite rapid, but the pace of ice growth slowed during the second half of the month, only to increase again at the end of the month. Throughout the month, sea ice extent remained within two standard deviations of the 1981 to 2010 average.
